Portfolio Award Information

The Springfield Old Capital Art Fair

WHO MAY ENTER:

Qualifying students must be a spring 2018 gradate of any Sangamon County high school. Students do not need to be pursuing a career/ education in the arts to qualify.

WHAT MUST BE ENTERED:

Please submit an art portfolio that includes a minimum of three and a maximum or four pieces. The artwork must be ORIGINAL and can be of any size, medium, subject matter, 2-D or 3-D. Mediums may be mixed within the portfolio. Prior to submitting portfolios, students must complete and submit an application.

LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER STUDENT.

WHEN AND WHERE TO ENTER:

Students must complete an application, by Monday, May 14th, 2018, and mailed or emailed to the following:

Portfolios must be received at Hoogland Center of the Arts (420 S 6th Street, Springfield, IL 62701) on Friday, May 18th, 2018 during the following times:

3:30 pm Delivery & Display
4:00 pm Doors Close
4:30 pm Judging Begins
5:30 pm Pick Up Portfolios

SOCAF is not responsible for any unclaimed artwork.

PRIZES & PICKUP

A total of six awards, at $600 each, will be presented during the student awards ceremony on Saturday, May, 19, 2018 at 10 am in front of the Old State Capitol. Award winners will receive further instructions at the Friday’s portfolio judging. After the art fair, winning artwork must be picked up at the Old State Capitol on Sunday, May 20, 2018 between 3:00-4:00pm. SOCAF is not responsible for any unclaimed artwork.
